Construction
Queensland Kauri strip planked West Epoxy/fibreglass
composite hull. Duracore deck and fit
out. Flange mounted mild steel
fabricated keel with integral diesel tank.
Vessel has extensive glass enclosed laminated beams
reinforcing the mast, deck and keel sections.
Engines
50hp naturally aspirated Volvo/Perkins MD22 4 cyl diesel
(2002 and 2,100 hour. Timing belt replaced 2104)
Shaft drive with PSS seal and 3 blade SS Autostream
feathering prop.
Fischer Panda AGT 400 12v generator.
Tanks
300 litre diesel in 3 tanks
350 litre (approx) water in 2 tanks
30 litre holding tank for head
Spars and Rigging
Full re-build of rig in 2002 including
re-wiring mast.
The swept back spreader ¾ rig has a Furlboom system
for the fully battened main

All halyards are spectra/dyema as are the runners and
checkstays

Hood genoa (No.2), staysail and main are Vectran
(2004) all in very good condition
Trisail, storm jib and several other headsails and
spinnakers.
Accommodation
An extensive professional refit in 2001/2002 converted
the vessel into 2 double cabins and 2 single berths with lee cloths.
The fitout is in African Ash with teak trim and there
are mahogany battens on the white 2 pack hull surfaces.
In the forward cabin there is a double berth,
cushioned settee with storage underneath, hanging locker and an extensive
bookshelf. The 2nd
toilet/laundry is ensuite in this area.
The main saloon has U-shaped dining area seating 6
people and a settee/bunk opposite. There
is extensive storage and bookshelves in this area. The main head and shower are
accessed from the saloon
The vessel’s mains powered split system air
conditioning is provided by 2 evaporators in the saloon and with doors open it
cools the whole boat.
The L shaped galley has white Corian benchtops. Storage access areas are behind a sliding
front cabinet, under the benchtops, as well as cupboards below the benchtops.
The double sinks are deep for operation in a seaway.
There is a separate filtered tap for drinking water.
The 3 burner Force 10 stove and oven is gimballed.
Opposite the galley is a benchtop accessed ICER 12v
built-in eutectic fridge/freezer with high quality insulation. This runs 365 days a year and can be powered
by the solar panels alone when the vessel is idle.
The saloon has 12v LCD TV/DVD which can be locked in
place when passaging.
The navigation station is located in the saloon
opposite the galley (see Electronics).
Behind the galley is a comfortable single berth with
shelving. The space under this berth is
used for extensive vented food storage.
A door leads to the lazarette.
Aft of the fridge is the aft cabin with a 7` double
bunk and extensive bookshelves. It has a
hanging locker, shelved cupboard and lifting top padded seat which provides
extensive storage as well as storage under the bunk.
There is cockpit and internal access to the lazarette
which houses a 2nd 12v ICER built-in fridge/freezer, a watermaker,
air conditioning compressor and sail, rope and canvas storage.
There are cockpit lockers for fenders, life raft and
dock lines and separate overboard draining lockers for 2 gas bottles and
outboard fuel.
There is a hot/cold cockpit shower.
Internal lighting is mainly with LED’s while cockpit
and anchor lights are also LED’s.
Electronics
New ST60 Raymarine electronic packages for wind,
speed, depth, GPS and autopilot were installed in 2002. Outputs are available in the cockpit and at
the navigation station.
In 2006 2 E series chart plotters were installed which
integrate all the instrumentation including the radar.
The E120 plotter is at the nav station, and the E80 is
mounted at the helm .At the same time the autopilot was upgraded to gyro
stabilized. The 7000 series autopilot
controls are also on the steering pedestal.
A Garmin 188C chartplotter at the nav station acts as
a back-up as well as a low power consumption anchor watch.
Communications is via ICOM
725 HF ham radio with A130 tuner, and a whip aerial which was replace to 2016.
There is an ICOM
M602 VHF transceiver with a masthead mounted antenna. It has a remote cockpit mounted command
terminal.
The vessel is fitted with a Raymarine AIS class B
transceiver and VHF splitter, which outputs to the Raymarine chartplotters.
The marine AM/FM radio is a Clarion and has CD and
Ipod connections. It has an external
aerial and speakers in the cockpit.
Electrics
The vessel is fitted with a 2600w Outback inverter.
560 amp hour gel cell house batteries, gel starter
battery and a 40 amp Xantrex charger and amp hour meter.
An earth isolation device is on the shore power
circuit to minimize anode consumption.
Fast charge circuits are on the main engine and
Genset.
Steering
Whitlock rack and pinion steering with tie rod
connected to rudder quadrant.
Spade rudder with 3`` ss shaft and oversize bronze
stuffing box and bearing.
Deck Hardware
New (2010) Maxwell 2200 electric anchor winch with 50
metres of 3/8 galvanized chain.
The anchors are Rockner 25 and 45 lb CQR type.
5 cabin top Andersen winches 2 x 46, 2 x 40 and 1 x 40
variable speed electric winch (2010) for main halyard/boom furling.
All sail hoisting and controls are made from the
cockpit.
8 Andersen cockpit winches 2 x 52, 2 x 46, 2 x 46
electric for alternate genoa/mainsheet and 2 x 40 for runners.
Cockpit controls and steering are very ergonomic with
the electric sheet winches at hand together with full navigational information
facilitating shorthanded cruising.
Very strong dodger fitted with stratoglass clears.
There is also a filler panel and side clears that all but in close the cockpit.
The extensive bimini has 4 x 80w solar panels, a radar
mast, glomax TV Arial and outboard crane and dinghy davits.
The Swift 3.1metre aluminum bottomed Hyperlon RIB is
fitted with a 8HP Yamaha outboard new 2013 and is raised using the electric
sheet winch.
All 4 cabintop Lewmar ocean hatches were replaced in
2010, and all 10 opening Gebo portlights were installed in 2002.

Summary
This vessel has been raced and cruised extensively by
the past and current owners over the past 19 years. Continuing upgrades have provided for updated
equipment for safe and comfortable cruising in the future.
Rose is recognized as a very well found vessel.
